As head of Woolworths, Australia’s leading retail organisation, Michael Luscombe has strong growth ambitions for his company and a clear view of what is essential to the company’s continuing success.
In this final QUT Business Leaders’ Forum for 2008, Michael Luscombe will outline how he intends to drive future growth in a profitable and sustainable way in the country’s biggest and most successful retailer. He will also address where he intends to stake out future leadership positions for Woolworths and what leadership of this retail powerhouse means to him in a personal sense.
Michael Luscombe started with Woolworths as a graduate trainee in 1978 and was appointed CEO in late 2006. He will explain why “running this business is really all about making us better shopkeepers” and the critical factors in the success of Woolworths including his laser like focus on the customer.
